I was a war feast, but remembered for peace. I was never special to anyone. No one wrote my recipe down. My ingredients were never supposed to be measured. I was not created in a clean kitchen with shining utensils or professional hands. I was born in comotion, when the world was barely breathing and people were just trying to survive. I remember the first time I came to life. The war was in the air. The cold breeze was not pleasing, but it was tense and chilling the spine. There was no market, no fresh vegetables, no spices neatly stored in jars. Only scraps. Whatever people could find.
